Sisters’ Retreats | The National Shrine of St. John Neumann

Sisters’ Retreats

The Shrine of St. John Neumann has offered a Sisters’ Retreat Day for many years. St. John Neumann, the fourth bishop of Philadelphia, was responsible for bringing and supporting many religious communities to assist in establishing the parochial school system in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia.

We invite you to join us at the Shrine for a beautiful retreat day as you spend time in contemplation and in the celebration of the Eucharist. You will have an opportunity to reflect on teachings by the Redemptorist priest who will lead your retreat, and we end the morning in fellowship with a meal together.

These special prayer experiences are offered on the first Saturday of the month. Every effort will be made to make announcements of any anticipated changes to the schedule at least one month in advance. Please check the website and feel free to call us also. In the event of bad weather, please call the Parish Office at 215-627-2386, open every day, to find out if the retreat is cancelled.

For more information, contact Deborah Binder, Assistant Shrine Director, 215-627-3080, extension 115.

The ‘Sisters’ Retreat’ will resume in September, 2021 on the 1st Saturday of the month. They will continue in October, November and December. We do not hold a ‘Sisters’ Retreat’ in January due to our busy time of the year with St. John Neumann’s Feast Day on January 5th. Please join us for our Feast Day Celebrations! We always celebrate his Feast Day on the actual date, no matter what day of the week it falls, and also on Epiphany Sunday.

The ‘Sisters’ Retreat’ will then start again in February on the 1st Saturday of the month, and continue for March, April and May. We do not hold a ‘Sisters Retreat’ in the summer months of June, July & August.
