Students gather at the Shrine to celebrate African-American saints in the making | The National Shrine of St. John Neumann

The Shrine was in the news recently, as students from area Catholic schools visited for a February 25 prayer service organized by the Archdiocese of Philadelphia’s Office for Black Catholics.

During the service, the youngsters learned more about the lives of six African-Americans whose causes for sainthood have been opened.
