A ribbon-cutting, documentary film, poetry, music, art, literature—and St. John Neumann! It’s all here the week of April 29.
Come celebrate and pray with us during the grand opening of our new St. John Neumann museum. Please join us for this latest addition to the Shrine’s campus, which kicks off Monday, April 29, with a formal ribbon-cutting by Archbishop Charles Chaput.
This week of celebration will feature daily tours of the new museum beginning at 3 p.m., followed by a cultural event each evening. We hope these events will complement your Shrine experience and encourage you to visit the new museum.

The museum will tell our saint’s story in ways that are faithful to the past yet speak to the present. Young and old, long-time and new devotees, Catholics and others, can all benefit from hearing of his personal story and struggles. I invite you to learn about his missionary spirit, sense of humility, closeness to the poor and immigrants, and his lasting contributions to the education of young people.
St. John Neumann Hall, also an integral part of our school building, is ready! These months have been busy as we worked to prepare this final enhancement for our ministry at the Shrine. All four components—the museum, media room, gift shop, and café—will be fully available beginning the week of April 29.
We are confident this new space will provide our visitors with attractive amenities even as the Shrine continues to give so much solace to so many. Now as spring unfolds, we look forward to welcoming you and your families, parishes, school groups, and pilgrims.
Our saint lived in interesting times, and his holiness is now legendary.
